The Effect of the Hot Seat Strategy on Listening Comprehension Skills in Arabic Language Course among Female Ninth Basic Grade Students in Jordan

Abstract

The study aimed at investigating The effect of the Hot seat strategy on listening comprehension skills in Arabic language course, among female ninth basic grade students, of Al Mazar secondary comprehensive school, in the Directorate of Education of the Northern Mazar District. The subjects of the study consisted of (67) female students were selected by available method. The students were an assigned into two groups:  experimental and control group. The students were pretested in listening comprehension skills in the beginning of the second semester 2018/2019. The experimental group participants received training on listening comprehension skills by a hot seat strategy, while the control group taught by the conventional method. The training went on for (60) days with (16) listening sessions, each session needs (45) minutes. The posttest analysis results showed a statistically significant differences in listening comprehension skills in the favor of the experimental group.
