The Reality of Psychological Preparation among the Jordanian National Teams for Individual Games during the Coronavirus Outbreak

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the reality of psychological preparation among the Jordanian national team's players for individual games during the Coronavirus outbreak. In addition, to identify the depression and anxiety level among the Jordanian national team's players for individual games during the Coronavirus outbreak. To achieve this, we used the descriptive method on a sample consisting of (n = 54). In addition, to reduce face-to-face interaction, an electronic questionnaire was built by using (Google Form), as it consisted of (28) paragraph that dealt with depression, anxiety, and psychological methods used with players. Where (12) paragraph was related to depression and anxiety), and (16) paragraph was related to psychological methods used. To statistically manipulate data, the researchers used means, standard deviations, and percentages. The results of the study have shown that the level of depression and anxiety was high among the study sample with an average of (0.48 ±2.44) and the average use of psychological means for players during home quarantine came with a low degree and a percentage (29.63) %. The researchers recommend that new strategies should be used to provide psychological care for these players considering the home quarantine.
