The level of nutritional behavior and its relationship to physical condition and crawl swimming achievement among students at the Sports Sciences School at the University of Jordan

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the relationship between the level of nutritional behavior and crawl swimming achievement among students at the Sports Sciences School at the University of Jordan, the descriptive approach was used, and the study sample consisted of (15) students of a swimming level (2) course at the Sports Sciences School at the University of Jordan. To collect data, a nutritional behavior questionnaire consisting of (3) dimension was used: (food behavior management, food quantity, and food quality) and (40) paragraph, and a physical condition test consisting of (5) dimensions, namely: (muscle strength, endurance, speed, Flexibility, and agility), a test consisting of (30) statements, and a crawl swimming achievement time test (25 m), (50 m), and (100 m), The results of the study indicated that the better the level of nutritional behavior, the greater the level of the overall physical condition and its dimensions (for the muscle strength, endurance, speed, flexibility, and agility), and that the better the nutritional behavior, the greater the level of swimming achievement (25 m), (50 m). And (100 m) among students of Swimming Course level (2), of Sports Sciences school at the University of Jordan, and the researchers recommended intensifying nutritional awareness programs for students at the Sports Sciences school and explaining appropriate food behavior habits and urging adherence to them, especially during university hours and when there are practical swimming lectures.
