The problems facing school administration in secondary schools in Jordan from the viewpoint of school principals and principals

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the problems facing school administrations in public secondary schools in the directorate of Marka District in Jordan with regard to the viewpoint of school principals. The study based on a descriptive survey method and the study community consisted of (86) principals from the directorate of Marka District. Besides the study personnel contains about (71) principals chosen randomly. The study tool is composed of questionnaire prepared by the researchers depending on several educational studies and researches related. It contained (49) paragraphs after making sure of their validity and stability. The study was applied after making statistical treatments needed. After applying the questionnaire on the sample personnel (study subjects) the study revealed that the administration problems facing the principals in secondary schools were very high with an average of (3.71). The problems related to school building and equipment come first with an average of (3.82). Secondly, problems related to students and parents. Finally, problems related to school administration are the last ones with an average of (3.55). And the reasons for the study results are statistically significant differences between respondents' average due to gender variable in the interest of males. Also, there are no statistical differences among respondents due to qualification variable and experience. On the light of the results that the study achieved the two researchers recommend the followings; we should apply comprehensive procedural plans by principals to overcome problems and obstacles facing them and also they should prepare comprehensive plans to qualify teachers.
