The Effect of Repeated Reading on Developing Oral Reading Fluency among Basic Fifth-Students

Abstract

This study aimed to know the effect of repeated reading on developing oral reading fluency among fifth grade students, the study sample consisted of (44) students from the fifth-grade students in Ajloun Governorate, in the first semester of the academic year 2021/2022, a quasi-experimental design was used for two equal groups, an experimental group consisting of (22) students, on which the repeated reading strategy was applied. and a control group consisting of (22) students, who studied in the usual way, a pre-post-test was applied for both groups on oral reading fluency. The results of the study showed a statistically significant effect (α=0.05) of the repeated reading method in improving oral reading fluency on the posttest in favor of the experimental group. The study recommended the need to use repeated reading to improve oral reading fluency.
