Abstract

This study aimed to identify the internal (legislative) determinants in the Jordanian political system affecting the participation of parties during the period (1946-2020), The study used three methods as a method of study, namely: first, the historical method, second, the descriptive and analytical approach, and third, the comparative approach, The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: The internal (legislative) determinants greatly affected the participation of parties in the Jordanian political system. So that each determinant differed from the other determinant in the degree of influence, The study also made a number of recommendations, namely: First, amending the text of the Jordanian constitution of 1952  and that more articles be devoted to political parties in their participation in the Jordanian political system, whether through mentioning the right to participate in the elections, and their right to form a party (coalition) government, Second, to amend the Political Parties Law and to establish in it the requirement that a number of members be represented from a certain percentage of the Jordanian governorates; That is, refer to the text of the political parties law for the year 2012 about that condition, so that the parties do not have more than what is realistic and that establishing parties does not become a hobby or for financial support, Third, to amend the election law and to allocate a certain number to political parties in it; Which will help it more to enter the competition to form governments later.

Keywords: internal (legislative) determinants, party participation, the Jordanian political system, parliament.
