Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the level of psychological immunity and its relationship to Preventive Behaviors of Jordanian university students under COVID – 19, in light of student gender, college, GPA, and work status. To achieve this aim, a psychological immunity and a Preventive Behaviors scale was developed. The sample consisted of (692) bachelor students, both males and females, who were purposefully selected from students enrolled in the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021. The results showed that the level of psychological immunity and of practicing hygienic behavior was moderate. The findings also showed a positive correlation between the level of psychological immunity and that of Preventive Behaviors. Statistical differences were found in the level of psychological immunity due to gender in favor of males, but no Statistical differences were found due to the other variables. Significant differences were also found in the level of practicing hygienic behavior due to student gender and college in favor of females and scientific colleges, but no differences were found due to other variables. Finally, the results indicated a significant difference between the two correlation coefficients between psychological immunity and Preventive Behaviors due to gender in favor of males.
