Cognitive Resilience and Self-Confidence and their Relationships with Psychological Well-Being among Tafila Technical University Students

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between Cognitive Resilience, Self Confidence and Psychological Well-Being among sample of Tafila Technical University students, and finding the differences in Cognitive Resilience and Self Confidence and Psychological Well-Being according to gender and faculty. To achieve the study purposes the researchers prepared and developed the study instruments and approved its validity and reliability, and the study descriptive correlational design was employed. The study sample consisted of (405) students in the scholastic year 2019-2020, Selected randomly. The study indicated that the university students had high degree of Cognitive Resilience, Self Confidence and Psychological Well-Being with no differences according to gender or faculty. The results also showed a positive correlation between Cognitive Resilience, Self Confidence and Psychological Well-Being, and the contribution of Cognitive Resilience and Self Confidence in predicting Psychological Well-Being. In light of the result, some recommendations were presented.
